Introduction Rescue 1122
Rescue 1122 is an emergency response service that serves the Punjab Province of Pakistan. You can reach the service by dialing 1122 from any Pakistani phone number. The 2006 Punjab Emergency Service Act established it to manage emergencies like fire, rescue and emergency medical care. To ensure the management and prevention and recommendation of mitigation measures to hazards that endanger public safety, the Punjab Emergency Council has been established. Rescue 1122, which was launched in 2004 in the Lahore Pilot Project, is now operational in all Punjabi Districts with over 110 million people. It also provides technical assistance to other provinces in Pakistan.
Rescue 1122 is a program that provides emergency medical services, rescue and fire services, as well as community safety programs. In close collaboration with the District Administration, the District Emergency Officer is responsible to manage the Service’s day-to-day operations and administer it in each District. The overall oversight of quality and uniformity, training, planning and research through the Provincial Monitoring Cell is the responsibility of the office. Management is working to improve their services. In March 2013, 14 fully-equipped ambulances were purchased by Emergency Rescue Service Rawalpindi.
